Grenaches du Monde on Olympic form

The 2024 Grenaches du Monde competition will take place on 13th May, when Olympics host-city Paris will briefly become the Grenache capital of the world. An international jury composed of around 100 discerning palates and influential wine experts will select the best wines made from Grenache in all corners of the globe.

Now in its 12th year, the competition shines a light on producers and regions whose skills and know-how produce the very best expressions of Grenache. Judges will taste their way through a range of single varietal and blended wines, from across all styles – still, sparkling, fortified, dry and sweet styles and all colours.

In recent years, Grenache has carved a name for itself and its growing appeal seduces professionals and consumers from all over the world. After New York city welcomed the competition in 2023, it is now the French Capital’s turn to celebrate the diversity and excellence of this important varietal.

Grenache has been grown in Roussillon for centuries and the region is expected to compete well again for those sought after medals. Last year, the competition saw 38 Roussillon producers bring home 53 Double Gold, Gold and Silver medals.

Let the games begin!
