STÉPHANE ZANELLA, NEW PRESIDENT OF CIVR

Succeeding Philippe Bourrier whose term of office was coming to an end, Stéphane Zanella, as representative of the Trade, was elected by the CIVR General Meeting held on December 14, 2020. Régis Ouguères was elected as Vice-President for Production at the same time. The new management team has taken over the reins of the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Roussillon as of today for a three and a half year term, which will end in June 2024.

Since its creation in 2001, the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Roussillon (CIVR) has been involved in the development of Roussillon Wines through four main types of mission : an economic steering mission, a research and experimentation mission, a downstream product quality monitoring mission and a collective promotion mission.

A MANDATE WITH ADVANCES FOR THE ROUSSILLON INDUSTRY

During its term of office, the outgoing team can congratulate itself for having contributed to the preservation of the Roussillon identity through all the actions set up by the CIVR.

In particular, a new collective signature was unveiled in 2020 “Les Roussillon sont là”Ⓡ / “Reach for Roussillon”, aimed at supporting the commercial development of Roussillon Wines on its various markets, both French and international, and as part of a global strategy to strengthen their reputation and image.

Despite a year 2020 marked by the global health crisis, the CIVR was able to play a key role in mitigating the economic consequences, in particular thanks to its intervention with the Region, which enabled all operators to submit a marketing assistance application.

« 2020 has been a difficult year for everyone, and especially for the operators, who need the Interprofession all the more to improve the collective reputation of Roussillon Wines. Our support role is key in this context to help them bounce back. Collective action must take precedence, in consultation with all the players in the sector, in order to guarantee and promote our “Roussillon” identity and build this new chapter of the CIVR together. “Stéphane Zanella
